GIVE TODAY ... FOR TOMORROW
Give a gift today that will help the Symphony tomorrow. Gifts of cash, securities, or other assets can be in the form of an outright gift now, or a deferred gift such as a bequest or other type of planned gift. Outright gifts are invested immediately so that they can begin generating earnings.
Deferred gifts are received and invested at a future date, as specified by the donor or the donor’s estate. If they desire, donors may make a pledge to the Foundation with a payment schedule over a three to five year period.
It is important to note that under accounting rules, if you wish to make an endowment gift you must specifically name the Southwest Florida Symphony Endowment Foundation, Inc. as the recipient of your gift, or use similar language signifying your intent, in order for your gift to be part of the permanent endowment.
For those individuals who want to make an endowment gift but have concerns about retirement income, we encourage you to seek counsel from your attorney, accountant, financial planner, or estate planner to determine if a gift with a life income plan is suitable for your situation.We can provide you with some introductory information on this topic.
Endowment donors can chose to be recognized each season in the Classical and Pops Concert season programs and at annual appreciation events.
ENDOWMENT FOUNDATION
The Southwest Florida Symphony Endowment Foundation, Inc. was established in 2000 as a separate non-profit corporation in order to build a significant and secure base of assets for long-term support of the Symphony. The Foundation, managed by an independent Board of Trustees, receives gifts, provides appropriate investment stewardship, and makes regular disbursements of earnings to the Symphony.
Foundation Trustees are chosen from our community for their strong dedication to music and their understanding of and experience in the foresight and fiduciary responsibility required to oversee this cultural financial resource.
The Endowment Foundation is vital to the Symphony’s present and future. It helps provide the additional revenue the Symphony needs above and beyond ticket sales, sponsorships, grants, and gifts to the Annual Fund. Distributions from the Foundation supplement regular operating revenues and can also seed new projects.
