Appalachian Spring @ BIG ARTS Schein Hall

Conducted by Nir Kabarett

Wagner: Siegfried idyll
Milhaud: La Création du Monde
Copland: Appalachian Spring
Ibert: Divertissement

Copland composed Appalachian Spring without knowing what the title was going to be. He was often amused when people told him he captured the beauty of the Appalachians in his music.

Wagner wrote Siegfried Idyll as a gift to his wife for the birth of their son, and staged a little orchestra to play it to surprise her.

Each piece has its own story, but the one thing in common is an intimate set-up for a small orchestra. Voila! Our small stage symphony series is born.
